Building Homes, Communities, and Hope.

Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.

What we do

Habitat for Humanity of St. Augustine/St. Johns County is a non-profit Christian organization that brings families, volunteers and resources together to build simple, decent affordable housing in St. Johns County.

Families and individuals in need of decent, affordable housing apply for homeownership with their local Habitat for Humanity. Potential homeowners are selected by a committee and then approved by the board of directors based on four criteria. Homes are built with local donations by community volunteers in partnership with potential homeowners.

Why we do it

St. Johns County has a shortage of affordable housing. Many families and individuals are cost burdened by spending more than 30% of their monthly income on housing. Median priced homes, as well as rentals, in St. Johns County are often out of reach for our workforce. If we want to have a thriving community, we must address the lack of workforce housing.
