Housing
Habitat homes are affordably built with the help of volunteers in the community.
This greatly reduces the cost of home construction. Potential homeowners are required to work alongside volunteers constructing their home as well as other Habitat homes. While we do receive some donated materials and tools, we purchase most materials needed to construct new, energy efficient homes. Every applicant must qualify for a zero interest mortgage and payments are based upon income.SCHEIDEL COLLEGE SCHOLARSHIP
Our families are blessed, not only with the opportunity of homeownership, but also the opportunity of an education. The Scheidel Scholarship, founded by Herb and Miyuki Scheidel in 2002, provides Habitat families of St. Johns County and Jacksonville Beaches with an educational scholarship.
